I am a public health scientist with a focus on health access and outcomes often using spatial statistical methods. I earned my Ph.D. in Population Health & Place from the University of Southern California. My research is focused on understanding the facilitators and barriers to quality health services, and I have a background in studying access for hard-to-reach and conflict-affected populations in low- and middle-income countries. I have worked with international non-governmental organizations on health system intervention and evaluations, and my experiences living and working in Central Asia, East Africa, and West Africa have shaped my research questions.

More recently, I have expanded my research to focus on access to health services in the United States. In particular, I have developed publicly accessible tools such as the Pharmacy Access Initiative to help policy makers, industry leaders, pharmacists and the general public to understand vulnerable communities and Critical Access Pharmacies that are independently preventing new or worsening pharmacy shortage areas.
